Our Trustees


As trustees of the Community Outreach Program Trust, our primary objective is to engage in public benefit activities withinin our communities. These include : Welfare, humanitarian, health care, education, development as well as conservation and environmental activities. Our secondary objective is the promotion of Christian religion in communities. These include: Preaching the gospel of salvation to unbelievers, reading and studying the Bible (the word of God), as well as engaging in prayer, praise and worship of God.

Matthew Blewett

With over 30 years in private equity, entrepreneurship and strategic business growth, he brings deep leadership and execution experience. A founding COPT Trustee, he is committed to advancing human potential and harnessing creativity and technology to drive meaningful, scalable transformation.

Funo Gumede

KZN Bible Education Centre Manager | Principal Teacher overseeing all Bible Education Centres. Provides training, guidance, and curriculum support to BEC facilitators, ensures the smooth running of classes and correspondence courses

Prashini Moodley

Clinical microbiologist and honorary professor at Nelson R Mandela School of Medicine, UKZN. Specializes in infectious disease diagnosis and infection prevention. With over 13 years as a COPT Trustee, brings scientific expertise supporting the Trust's community development mission.

Stewart Gomeza

IT professional with over 25 years of leadership experience and certified NLP Practitioner passionate about people development. Has served as a COPT trustee for more than 13 years, bringing technology expertise and servant leadership rooted in Christian faith.

Pradeep Kana

Chartered Accountant with extensive experience in financial management and governance. Key member of the Christadelphian Ecclesia in Yeoville and COPT Trustee serving Gauteng, ensuring responsible resource stewardship aligned with the Trust's mission.

Finance Officer | Manages COPTrust’s finances, including budgeting, reporting, and compliance, ensuring transparency and effective use of resources.

Yvette van Rooyen

KZN Regional Head | Oversees all COPTrust operations across the greater Durban area, ensuring that programmes run effectively. Support to centre leaders and ensures that each Good News Centre serves its community with excellence and impact.

Lamontville Centre Leader | Oversees Early Childhood Development and community outreach programmes, manages youth and elderly initiatives, and ensures the centre provides a nurturing, educational, and supportive environment for the community.

Sylvester Cele

Mariannhill Centre Leader | Manages the Gogo Development Programme, oversees daily centre activities, coordinates community upliftment projects, and provides guidance and support to ensure the wellbeing and active participation of the elderly in meaningful programmes.

Bongani Gumbi

Gauteng Regional Manager | Oversees COPTrust's three Gauteng Good News Centers, manages fundraising and sponsorships, coordinates health awareness and learner support initiatives, and leads boys' mentorship programs across the region.

Ollie Mahopo

Faith Pillar Project Facilitator | Leads Bible classes and seminars, provides substance abuse counselling, coordinates old age home outreach, and oversees adult upliftment programs including sewing, baking, crocheting, and beading at Soweto GNC.

Veronica Moropana

Family Pillar Project Facilitator | Coordinates community welfare initiatives at Aphiwe GNC, manages soup kitchen and meal programs for children, oversees adult upliftment projects, and leads boys' and girls' mentorship sessions including Gogo's support groups.
