Young Adult Initiatives

Overview

Our Young Adult Initiatives are designed to equip young people with the tools they need to build a brighter future. Many of these young adults have been part of our Good News Centres for years, growing through the programmes we run for children and youth. Now, as they step into adulthood, we continue walking alongside them by offering practical training, mentorship, and opportunities that prepare them for meaningful work and responsible living.

Building Strong Communities

What We Offer

  • Learn 2 Earn Programme
We assist young people in gaining trades such as forklift driving, photography, home care, IT, welding, security, or hairdressing. Most courses run for a year, during which COPT covers tuition and provides a small monthly stipend for transport and food. Participants also attend workshops on entrepreneurship, finance, accounting, interview skills, and more.
  • Public Speaking and Leadership Training
Structured sessions build confidence, self-expression, and leadership skills. Young people learn how to debate, present ideas, and speak clearly, empowering them at school and in their communities.
  • Mentorship and Life Skills
Having someone to guide you makes a big difference. Our mentors support young people through challenges like big decisions about their future. We also run life skills workshops that teach practical things, how to manage emotions, make good choices, and get ready for adulthood.
  • Entrepreneurship Seminars
Practical workshops equip participants with knowledge about running a small business, managing finances, and spotting opportunities. These skills prepare young adults to become self-sufficient and community builders.

Why It Matters

Young adults face big challenges as they move toward independence. Without guidance, many struggle with unemployment, tough choices, or feeling stuck. By investing in their education, skills, and confidence, COPTrust helps them build a future where they can support themselves, their families, and their communities.
