Community Development and Emergency Relief

Overview

The Community Development & Emergency Relief Initiative supports people by meeting practical needs, offering training, and creating spaces where they can grow and connect. Our goal is to make communities stronger and give people opportunities to improve their lives. When crises or disasters happen, we also stand with communities by providing emergency support, care, and encouragement, helping them recover and rebuild hope.

Building Strong Communities

What We Offer

  • Skills and Training – running workshops and courses in baking, sewing, beading, and basic computer skills, creating opportunities for income, digital literacy, and self-reliance.
  • Entrepreneurship Training – Hosting seminars and workshops in partnership with educational and entrepreneurship organisations to equip young adults with practical skills, financial knowledge, and tools to start and grow small businesses.

Why It Matters

Many families struggle to meet basic needs or plan ahead.  Access to school resources helps children learn with confidence, while skills training and entrepreneurship create ways for young adults and parents to earn a living. Celebrating key holidays together builds unity and a sense of belonging. And in times of disaster, emergency relief ensures communities have the support they need to recover and rebuild. Together, these efforts help create stronger, more resilient communities.
