During the most recent school holidays COPT ran a couple of holiday clubs at our Good News Community Centres. We had games and quizzes relating to our theme of space and creation. It was fun to see the children working out the order of creation and looking at how the earth fits into the solar system. Children were kept busy with space themed crafts – making edible rockets, cutting, sticking and painting the planets to make pictures of the solar system. They also participated in team building quizzes with space related mazes and word-searches.
We had a container filled with sweets. Children each had one ‘free’ guess to estimate the number. We awarded other guesses as prizes for teamwork, good behaviour, artistic talent, neatness and creativity with the crafts. One lucky girl went home with 522 sweets! She’ll be popular … but I’m not sure we will be in favour with her parents!
