Project Africa
Each year we take part in a cross-continent music concert. A former COPT volunteer is now Head of Music at a school in England. She teaches her UK students some Zulu songs which she has learnt on her numerous visits to South Africa. Once the songs are practiced and mastered they hold a concert in the UK.
Youth from the COPT centres in South Africa prepare songs to perform at the same time as the school in England’s concert. The SA youth together with the UK school are connected via Skype and exchange their musical performances. This is an exciting cross cultural event and is an activity to raise funds helping the youth in their education. The musical concert also raises awareness of COPT in the UK.
